2023年米蘭世錦賽，男子花劍4強賽事，香港隊同意大利隊對陣。我哋先睇下意大利隊，佢哋係去年2022年嘅世錦賽衛冕冠軍。今個賽季，佢哋贏咗波恩世界杯同巴黎世界杯嘅冠軍。幾日前，托馬索·馬里尼 (Tommaso MARINI) 仲攞咗個人世界錦標賽嘅冠軍。Alessio FOCONI今年亦贏咗釜山大獎賽，佢而家排名世界第8。今次係Filippo MACCHI 加入意大利隊嘅第一年，佢喺都靈大獎賽拎咗銀牌，亦贏咗歐洲個人錦標賽嘅冠軍，現排名世界第9，取代咗Bianchi Guillaume成為意大利隊嘅最後一個席位。最後，係衛冕奧運會銀牌得主 Daniele GAROZZO，佢排名世界第11。
而香港隊方面，佢哋喺世錦賽上未曾攞過男子花劍團體獎牌。一年前，我地有張家朗成為香港第一位攞到世錦賽個人獎牌（銅牌）嘅擊劍運動員。而蔡俊彥則現位於世界第23。
